Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on what is going on with me. I lost my full-time day job a couple of weeks ago. And while the timing is not the greatest with the economy the way it is, and with the holidays coming up, I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. I took this as a sign to become a full-time photographer and feel blessed that I have this opportunity. This is a scary transition, but I am very optimistic that this is what I am meant to be doing.
As most of you have noticed, I had a HUGE issue with my site where the server lost over a months worth of my calendar and blog entries. I am trying my best to get this corrected, but it looks like I’m just going to have to start from scratch. Like that was not enough of a problem, there was another issue with my e-mails where new messages were being sent directly to my read folder or in some cases my spam folder. I just got this e-mail issue corrected today and I’m trying to make sure that I got back to everyone. If you have written me in the past week and not heard back, please send me another message. Please also check the calendar for your session dates and times to make sure I replaced all the deleted appointments correctly.
On another more personal note, my husband’s Grandfather, Charles passed away very early this morning.

We knew his health was not the best, but this came so much sooner than anyone could have expected. He was a good man and will be missed greatly, but we know that he is in a better place now. Please keep Scott’s family and especially his Grandma Carol in your prayers as this will be especially tough on her having been married to Grandpa Charles for over 60 years. He lived just outside Sacramento, CA and since there are 11 of us in the STL area that will head out there for the services, we have to drive. We are working out the details now, but it looks like I will be gone for about a week. I will be trying my best to get out as many sessions as possible before I leave and have two weddings to shoot this weekend as well. I will have limited access to e-mail through my phone, but will try to get back with people the best I can.
I do realize how frustrating it is waiting for your proofs, albums or photobooks when it takes longer than expected. I appreciate your patience as I play catch up (again) and promise to have everything to everyone ASAP.

Small Setback -
So I restarted my home computer Monday night thinking, well…it has not be restarted in a while, it’s about time. Little did I know that my computer would go into shock with
this seemingly little thing and rebel against me. It took my husband 5 hours and two trips to Best Buy (for the wrong things) to figure out what was wrong - Bad Ram - Seriously -
While I sat wondering ‘It’s OK, I can use my laptop and still get stuff done’ - wrong! Well apparently when the main computer is down then so is the network therefore I couldn’t
access any of my files - completed or otherwise. Ugggh!!! So by the time Scott figured out the problem, Best Buy had closed and I missed an entire evening of proofing and posting.
I am praying that by the time I get home tonight from my newborn session that it will be back to normal and I can post what I have completed and finish the ones that are started.

Sophie and Mya...
I cannot believe how big Sophie has gotten, it seems like just last week when I shot these: http://kayrileyphotography.com/blog/?p=518. And while big sister Mya was much more concerned about playing with the flowers, the fountain, the stairs and basically anything other than me, I did manage to get a few good shots. Such a beauty, even if she won’t sit still!!
